Lower Redgorton
Description of fishings
The Lower Redgorton is divided into the Waulkmill and Gold Castle Beats and can be fished from the banks, by wading and from a boat. The beats extend to about 1.35 miles in length and include 19 named pools. There is a reciprocal arrangement with the proprietors of the opposite bank (Lower Scone) whereby each proprietor can fish both banks on alternate days.
There are 2 fishing huts which are accessible by car. A ghillie is allocated to the Lower Redgorton beats.
There is a full time Ghillie, boats and first class facilities on this famous and accessible beat situated 3 miles north of Perth.
Method of ownership
The formation of The Lower Redgorton Syndicate has allowed fishermen to secure prime fishing on the River Tay in perpetuity giving them the right to fish for salmon and sea trout during their chosen week.
The purchaser will be assigned the current owner’s rights in week 37.
The fishings are managed by a Management Committee.
An annual management charge is levied each year to pay for the running costs of the fishings. The management charge in 2024 for week 37 was £1,076/rod.
